Medical Pharmacology Clinical Case:  Pilocarpine Intoxication

An 18 yr. old man attempts suicide by drinking two small bottles of liquid pilocarpine (Pilocar, 1%) eyedrops, about 8 ml, followed by injecting one ml of the same substance subcutaneously.  Shortly thereafter, a few minutes, he began vomiting.  At this time he was found by a friend and taken to the emergency department of a nearby hospital.
