Second Generation Cephalosporins
  • Active against gram-positive cocci; these agents have an extended gram-negative spectrum compared to first generation drugs.
  • Active against ß-lactamase producing H.influenzae
  • Good activity against anaerobes; effective in mixed-infections (e.g. peritonitis)
